I not installed eggdbus, but ConsoleKit needs eggdbus. Hi, upstream already has a fix for this in current Git master: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/ConsoleKit/commit/?id=2418840248f07025ad0edc96ed17e03ce5e47f3e I would prefer to pull the patch from upstream Git. I had a syntax error in my rc.conf - sorry for bothering you. Last edited by Mizpa; December 15th, 2011 at 01:19 AM.
The reason was that for me the output of ps -e (concerning console-kit-daemon) is not "/usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon" but "console-kit-dae" Changing the code into if [ "$(ps -e|grep console-kit-dae)" = "" ];then worked After adding dbus and unblocking network, I'm still getting this error. I was considering booting 11.4 and scrapping 11.10 altogether, but I don't know what files have changed since I last backed up.

Thanks! Eventually, I decided to scrap the installation and just revert to 11.4. Copy sent to Debian Qt/KDE Maintainers
I have the /etc/selinux/config set to SELINUX=disabled. And, since the change, the login takes longer and chromium does not start at all any more. I have got the same on all my machines, but only with kernel 2.6.32. - -- /* Mit freundlichem Gruß / With kind regards, Patrick Matthäi GNU/Linux Debian Developer E-Mail: [email protected] Message sent on to Sergiy Yegorov
This happens since version dbus_1.4.12-4ubuntu2_amd64. Yes, it works. On next day I got problems with audio driver and this error message presented in this topic have appeared. pid ES: Realmente nada funciona.

This is the first Ubuntu (Kubuntu 11.04 installed) that has ever worked for more than a day or two with me ...... org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit.Manager is an interface, not a service, and the mentioned method with that signature exists. I followed the instructions in #24 an the note in #52 and it worked perfectly for me. http://ibuildsystem.com/warning-cannot/warning-cannot-generate-export-module-for-the-current-session-using-import-pssession.php Are you new to LinuxQuestions.org?
It ran successfully but whenever I tried to login, the KDM would take my login and then throw me back at the login screen.Just to get started, here's what you need jerico (jerico-dev) wrote on 2011-10-25: #52 If I'm not mistaken then /run/lock should get the correct permissions, too. The X-ORG is fine, the 'restart to finish updates' message is gone and the 'Waiting for network configuration' is gone as well.
Moving the files and creating the symlinks in recovery fixed it as pacrock suggested. works without problems, so I switch back to default runlevel 4, now i can login and only get the error "Cannot open ConsoleKit session: Unable to open session..." here are some Offline #8 2011-10-14 22:20:45 wolfdogg Member From: Portland, OR, USA Registered: 2011-05-21 Posts: 532 Re: [SOLVED] ConsoleKit session / dbus Loading thanks, i forgot to add dbus to the daemons also. Thanks a lot!
This seems to have cured the problem. You are currently viewing LQ as a guest. The issue with 'Restart to complete system updates' even when I haven't ran any updates still happens so may be unrelated. get redirected here You saved my life...
I still don't know what happened to cause the problem though. In order to remove the '/var/run' completely, I had to do a 'umount -fl /var/run/samba/'. System DBUS policy does not allow it to provide user settings.
The good thing is that you provided simple instructions for fixing the problem and they work. Do you want to help us debug the posting issues ? < is the place to report it, thanks ! Migrated yesterday from 11.04 (which worked perfecly !) to this rather crappy and unstable 11.10 (there are really plenty of bugs in this release, including this severe one). How do I fix this?
