Two drives failed over the couple of years I used the 8600. He was getting a Resource busy error message.
There's also the question, using virtualization, whether you have Fusion set to use the Apple drivers or have loaded the Windows drivers and selected them. The disk is 256 Gb SSD. What could I do next? I surmise that, in this case, the problem is not with the drive but with the system which has somehow become constipated, for lack of a better word. Grab the bottom right corner of the box named "Macintosh HD" and drag it up slightly. Still spinning my wheels though-the files vmwarevm and vmdk are not found.
