Turns out there is a windows update that fixes the USB installers (KB2529073), however, when I ran it, windows said I already had it installed. After removing the hub and connecting the device directly to the computer, it worked just fine. After connecting them to another computer and ejecting them properly from there, they suddenly started to show up on the original computer that was not recognizing them. Is it a coincidence that so many computers are all having USB failures?
