(code 10) A Device Which Does Not Exist Was Specified. in the device manager I've uninstalled the drivers, rebooted, had it look for new devices, it didn't find anything new but the DVD ROM was back in the device manager. Have you found a fix yet? And it still spins a disc and ejects so mechanically it seems OK.

Thank you so much, I have been struggling to fix this problem for day's Once again - Thank you, next time I know where to come to get good advice that It shouldautomaticallydetect and reinstall it after rebooting. I uninstalled the driver and went back and made sure the upper filters were still deleted. this contact form Didn't try all registry fiddling above, just simply went straight to the services screen and stopped the Toshiba Optical Drive service and then set it to disabled.
