TSA broke a lock for which they have a master key. This seems to have fixed my Ralink RT5390 wireless connection issues. The kernel is now 3.11.0-04generic I have rebooted a few times, and the wireless connection has worked immediately for me without having to re-enter the key. Thanks everyone for your help.
