I am having trouble taking a clone of the VCENTER VM machine. Moving hosts out of cluster are not ideal when you have 10+ vms running. The exact error message you'll see from the task is quite descriptive … ‘Cannot connect to host'. The trick is to remove the ESX server from the Datacenter in VC entirely, then edit the file, then add it back in. I am running 3.5i on host and 2.5 Virt.
