Also you may want to add config.getAppContext().put(EngineConstants.APPCONTEXT_CLASSL OADER_KEY, Whateveryourclassisnamed.class.getClassLoader()); to your code. Straying even further from your original question, an alternative pattern which I should mention is Web Application Bundles (WABs).
I did as you said and now my problem is solved. This is the accepted answer. Fred, that would be xml-apis-1.0.b2.jar in your case that has the classes. The liberty runtime excludes the annotations jar that is in the JDK from the system classloader so that a newer version will be loaded from the javax.j2ee.annotation.jar in the lib dir.
However, these classes are already provided on JIRA's classpath - so now we have duplicates! Browsed through many forums. fdut 1100009M9S 2011-10-10T15:01:13Z thanks for your help. Holly_Cummins 110000T08G 2011-10-10T16:48:57Z Hi Fred, Your application does indeed use a lot of jar files. The problem occurs because of the implementation of the SAX libraries in Java - they use late-binding to select the appropriate parser implementation at runtime, and this late-binding is influenced by
Because they're OSGi-based, WABs are fully modular, so all of the binaries in the lib directory can be eliminated and instead expressed as a slim little declarative dependencies. When the plugin gets installed, it is isolated in its own class-loader and never sees the duplicate classes that are shipped with JIRA. First I removed codes and compile and then run.
