Well the repair didn't resolve the issue however it did tell me that it was unable to access machine.config in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG - found it didn't exist! I searched the document again and could not find anything set to Null. Again thanks for the heads up. It will hopefully fix you issue.
