Solution: Verify that the share permissions and file system permissions on the computer to which you are connecting allow you or your group access to the shared folder. why does this error keep popping out? Once I removed and re-added the credentials, it all worked. I have them set to not require a username and password, and there is only one connection, while the limit is set to 25 or something. I went into Control Panel, disabled offline files, rebooted the computer, and voilá --> I could access the shared folders again!
